Professor Sorin Mihai Radu, Ph.D., Eng., received the gold medal from the Société d’Encouragement au Progrès, a French organization founded in 1908, for his lifetime of work in the service of progress and humanity and for his scientific contributions.
The award came following a three-day working visit to Belfort, France, aimed at revitalizing and developing partnerships with:
- the Belfort-Montbéliard University of Technology (UTBM);
- the Belfort-Montbéliard Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which represents approximately 4,000 businesses.
The objectives of the discussions: resuming student and faculty exchanges through the Erasmus+ programs and creating internship opportunities for our students at European or global companies.
The rector emphasizes that the medal reflects the joint efforts toward internationalization by the university and its relationship with France. The University of Petroșani is part of the community of French-speaking universities.
We would like to thank our French partners for their hospitality and for the constructive dialogue.
