It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 12th Edition of the International Symposium "UNIVERSITARIA SIMPRO", scientific event which shall take place on October 22 – 24, 2026, in Petrosani, Romania.

The symposium "UNIVERSITARIA SIMPRO" International Symposium is a multidisciplinary one, with eleven scientific sections covering all topics related directly or indirectly to mining, environment, mechanical, electrical, safety and systems engineering, economics, social sciences and humanities.

CALL FOR PAPERS 

The Symposium will be held under the theme of „QUALITY AND INNOVATION IN EDUCATION, RESEARCH AND INDUSTRY - THE SUCCESS TRIANGLE FOR A SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEVELOPMENT” and would strive to maintain a balance between research and applications. Topics include:

PUBLICATION
Scientific papers submitted in accordance with SIMPRO 2026 symposium topics and presented will be published within the open-access periodicals of the University of Petrosani: Mining Revue, Annals of the University of Petrosani (Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Economics).

Mining Revue is covered by the following services: Astrophysics Data System (ADS), Baidu Scholar, Cabells Journalytics, CNKI Scholar (China National Knowledge Infrastructure), Current Geographical Publications, Dimensions, EBSCO, ExLibris, GeoRef, Google Scholar, J-Gate, Jisc - Open Policy Finder, Naver Academic, Naviga (Softweco), OpenAlex, ProQuest, ReadCube, ScienceON/AccessON, SCILIT, Scite_, Semantic Scholar, TDOne (TDNet), Ulrich's Periodicals Directory/ulrichsweb, WanFang Data, WorldCat (OCLC), X-MOL

All the periodicals of the University of Petrosani are indexed in major international databases: EBSCO, Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory, SUWECO, Scipio, Worldcat, DOAJ, Google Scholar and others.

The author/authors will be notified about which of the University of Petrosani periodicals the paper will be assigned for publication and they will have to express their agreement in this regard.

The section secretaries and the editors will format the papers in accordance with the requirements of the periodicals and the paper will be resent to the author/authors for proofreading before publication.

Important
Original papers, with high scientific content will be selected and recommended for publication in MDPI journals (with Impact Factor, indexed in Web of Science and Scopus). However, for these papers the author/authors must agree to the following:
- to format the paper in accordance with the recommended journal template;

- to upload the enhanced version of the paper and other necessary supplementary documents;
- to maintain correspondence with the editor and the reviewers.

Notes:
- the organizers of the symposium have no responsibility regarding the acceptance or rejection of the paper by the recommended MDPI journal;
- if the paper is accepted for publication, the author/authors must immediately contact the organizers of the symposium for the payment of the APC (article publication charge).

Reviewing process: High content quality is of utmost importance. The review and selection process that scientific committee/editors will conduct for the submissions and papers is single review process. Symposium organizers/editors agree to uphold the publishing ethics standards. Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement is based, in large part, on existing Elsevier policies and COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Publication ethics: The prevention of publication malpractice is the responsibility of every author, editor, reviewer, publisher and institution. The relevant duties and expectations of editors, reviewers and authors of the proceedings are set out in the PUBLICATION ETHICS section of the periodicals of the University of Petrosani.

Articles will be checked in a plagiarism tool and that any ethical misconduct will be considered very seriously.
