About the journal

The Annals of the University of Petrosani, Mining Engineering is an academic publication in Romania, in the field of mining engineering. The publication is edited entirely in English. The journal is published annually by University of Petrosani, Faculty of Mining and published by the Universitas Publishing House with ISSN 1454-9174, the journal is indexed BDI.

The periodical The Annals of the University of Petrosani, Mining Engineering treats different problems of geotechnics, rock mechanics, topography - geodesy engineering, mining methods and technologies for mineral resourses, mineral processing, environment, mining health and safety.

The published papers belong to the teaching staff of universities, the researchers and specialists from industrial production from Romania, as well as from abroad. The periodical is intended to spread scientific knowledge related to the mining field, and also to exchange scientific papers between the University of Petroșani and other universities and research centers throughout the world.

All articles must be sent electronically via email to dacianmarian@upet.ro.
The paper must be written in English, in MS-Word 2003 format or a newer one, according to the writing requirements. For this, please use the existing template.
There are no restrictions regarding the number of references but the number of self-citations must not exceed 5 self-citations/article and must not exceed 20% of the total number of references.

Article Review Process

The articles review is based on the following criteria:

  • originality, relevance and usefulness of research;
  • structure (title, abstract, key words, introduction, methodology and results, conclusions);
  • style, spelling and punctuation;
  • application of references;
  • emphasis on results, interpretations and conclusions (creativity level).

The articles which are not acceptable for publishing will be returned to authors with observations regarding the necessary corrections for improvement.
